Market Square

Market Square is the best spot for players, new and old, to set up shop and sell their items. Located in the East of the main island, the area sees a lot of foot traffic and is a great place to make some extra copper coins. Market Square is a public area, so players are subject to different building rules than in other areas of the server.

Plot Types

There are two ways to secure a spot (usually called a “plot”) in Market Square: players can either rent a plot, or use one of the free “pop-up” plots.

Pop-Up Plots

Pop-Up Plots are free to use, and players can set up shop in them without having to pay rent. However, players are limited to using these plots for a maximum of 7 days. This makes it a great way to test out the market, especially for new players, before committing to a rented plot.

There are currently 4 Pop-Up Plots available in Market Square, and they are all located in the East of the area, inside a single tent.

Rented Plots

Rented Plots are available for players to rent on a weekly basis. Players can rent a plot for as long as they want, as long as they pay the weekly rent. Rented plots are available in various sizes, and players are freely able to decorate their stalls as they see fit.

How to Rent a Plot

To rent a shop, go to the “Rent Tent” and find the rent barrel for an unoccupied plot, that you want to rent. Add your name to the sign on the barrel, and make sure to put the weekly rent in the barrel, before Sunday.

Rent Cost

The cost of renting a plot depends on its size, with larger plots costing more. Right now, Market Square charges around 1cc per 5 square meters weekly. A table of the costs can be found below. You can use the map at the top of this page to match each plot number with its location in Market Square.

Plot Rules

When occupying a plot, these rules must be followed:

  1. You may not build outside of your plot. A few signs sticking out is fine, or a small overhang as part of the roof is usually okay, but nothing more.
  2. There is a height limit of 5 meters, and you cannot build underground.
  3. You must keep your plot well lit, to prevent mobs from spawning.
  4. You can only occupy one plot at a time.
  5. You must actively use your plot. If you are not using it, you may lose it to another player.
