Overview

Alinea uses a custom currency in the form of copper and gold coins. These coins provide a stable currency that can be used to trade with other players. There is no official server shop, so players are encouraged to create their own shops and economies.

The conversion rate between copper and gold coins is 50 copper coins to 1 gold coin. Players can exchange their copper coins to gold coins by right clicking while holding a full stack of 50 copper coins. The same process can be used to convert gold coins to copper coins, converting a single gold coin to 50 copper coins.

Obtaining

The main way you can obtain coins is by trading with fellow players. You can either sell items or services to players directly, or you can set up a shop in the Market Square to sell items to other players.

On top of that, there are four other ways to obtain coins:

1. You receive 5 copper coins into your inventory when you first join the server.
2. For every day you play for at least 15 minutes, you will receive 1 copper coin, which you can collect at the Ignia Market Square.
3. Server staff and whitelist gurus are given a weekly stipend that scales with the number of new players joining the server. This stipend is given every Sunday.
4. Occasionally, the server administration will award coins during special events, or during procurements for server projects.
